Binchoyaki is a beloved izakaya style dining restaurant in the heart of Little Saigon in Sacramento. The restaurant needed a new logo and business system that would reflect the unique dining experience, where the food is cooked on traditional Japanese grills called, “yaki” in front of patrons.

The redesign features a custom type solution which represents the skewers used to make the food pinching through the lettering of the B and the K of the restaurants name. The mark is a combination of the yaki grill slats and a fish scale which represents the fresh ingredients used by the restaurant. Some of which are grown in house and are on display in front of the chefs cooking area. I used a deep red color to reflect the elegance of the food in addition to red being an auspicious color in Japanese culture.
